WEDNESDAY 4TH OCTOBER
11:30AM* - 5PM, THE SPORTS CENTRE
*From 10:30-11:30am, the Fair will be open as a designated quiet hour. We recognise that busy environments can be overwhelming and so during this time, loud noise will be avoided and fewer people will be admitted for those that need a quieter atmosphere.
AN UNMISSABLE PART OF YOUR WELCOME 💜
Freshers’ Fair is an unmissable part of your welcome to Lancaster experience. It’s a showcase of everything that Lancaster and your Students’ Union has to offer you including over 200 of our clubs, societies and student groups. You’ll also find a range of organisations with tonnes of freebies and student deals for you so come on down.
Explore below to find out how to access the Fair, join the queue and what you’ll find on arrival 👀
FIND THE FAIR 🎪
You will need to enter the queue for Freshers’ Fair at the BBQ Area near Bigforth Barn and follow Lake Carter behind the Sports Centre. The queue will be mostly uncovered and so in the event of rain you may want to bring a coat and umbrella! ☔
You will not be able to enter the Fair via the main Sports Centre entrance on Bigforth Drive. You will not be able to cut the queue at other points around Lake Carter. This will help us to get you into the Fair as quickly and safely as possible.
LOOK INSIDE 👀
Inside the Fair, you will find everything you need to kickstart your student life in Lancaster including sports clubs, societies, liberation forums and local businesses. Check what you’ll find in each of the Zones and plan out your visit below!

ACCESSIBILITY 💜
We want our Freshers’ Fair to be accessible and inclusive to all of our student members and we have put various adjustments in place for those that may need it. Please read these arrangements below in order to prepare for your visit to our Freshers’ Fair.
10:30-11:30am is designated as a quiet hour. During this time, loud noise will be limited and fewer people will be admitted to ensure a quieter atmosphere. If you feel that you would benefit from this environment, please visit the Fair during this time. If you do not need a quieter atmosphere then please respect this time as for those that need it and plan your visit from 11:30am.
If you have access needs, such as requiring step-free access or not being able to stand for longer periods of time, you will be able to enter the Fair by an accessible entrance. To enter here, please head towards the Car Park at the front of the Sports Centre and speak to a member of security or Students’ Union staff who will be able to direct you to the accessible entrance. If you need to use this entrance, you may bring one friend to accompany you into the Fair.
Earplugs are available on request from a member of Students’ Union staff.
All facilities available in the Sports Centre are marked on MazeMaps including accessible and/or gender neutral bathrooms, and water refill points.
If you feel overwhelmed or need a quiet space at anytime for any reason, please speak to a member of Students’ Union staff (wearing purple) who will be able to show you to the designated quiet room.
If you have any other issues at anytime, do not hesitate to speak to a member of Students’ Union staff (wearing purple) or security (wearing high-vis) and they will be able to support you.
