The Sugarhouse is the Student Union ran club who works to put on the best nighttime events in Lancaster. We are looking for an outgoing student to join our team! It will be a part time position with flexible hours including nights. 

Title -Sugarhouse Team Member

Location - Sugarhouse

Hours - Approx. 5-7 hours with potential of more (will include Wednesday and Friday nights) 

Pay rate - £12.51 basic rate £1.51 holiday pay

Interview Date - 10th April 2026

Preferred Start Date: 20th April 2026

Expected End Date: 31st July 2026

Job Description

To collect tickets and money at the front door. 
To work behind the bar serving drinks, with table service for early evening events. 
To stock the bar with drinks, glasses and ice. 
To collect glasses, wash them and return them to the bar. 
To work in the cloakroom taking customers’ personal belongings and issuing tickets. 
To carry out light cleaning duties; including washing tables, mopping floors and maintaining a decent standard of cleanliness in the toilets. 
To attend appropriate training sessions. 
To attend regular staff meetings. 
To be willing to take part in marketing activities for the venue. 
To uphold the Union's environmental, sustainable and ethical policies and to carry out similar duties as directed by the Chief Executive or her nominee.
Must be able to work Roses 2026 and Freshers 2026.

Title - Student Marketing Assistant

Location - At the Sugarhouse/ On campus

Hours - Approx. 5-7 hours with potential of more (will include Wednesday and Friday nights) 

Pay rate - £12.51 (£14.02 inc holiday pay)

Interview Date - 10th April 2026

Preferred Start Date: 13th April 2026

Expected End Date: 31st July 2026

Job Description

As a part of the Marketing team for Sugarhouse you'll help promote the club and the events we run! Making sure everyone is aware of what we're doing and showing off all the best bits of the club including the staff through the Tiktok page! 

The main responsibilities of the successful applicant will be:

Run the social media during the events including posting on the stories and help answering any questions that come in. 

Help build the social media presence of the club including Instagram and Tiktok.

Help run Promotion events on campus including a stall on Open days and Offer holder days. 

Work with the Union's comms team to come up with content to create and post on the social media.
